Catherine Toner

  • Catherine Toner has been passionate about singing from an early age. Raised in Niagara Falls she was resident soloist at Our Lady of the Scapular Church before studying Voice Performance at Wilfrid Laurier University. After graduation she performed throughout Canada and with the Hamilton Opera Company for many seasons, appearing in productions including La Boheme, La Traviata, The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute as well as other operatic works. For over 25 years, Catherine has owned and operated “Catherine’s Vocal Studio” an award winning studio helping singers of all ages develop healthy vocal technique, confidence and artistry. She is an Ontario Registered Music Teacher (ORMTA) and a member of the National Association Teachers of Singing (NATS). She has also taught voice pedagogy to ARCT level students. Her students have earned numerous regional and provincial awards and this summer one of her students was chosen to represent Ontario in the Musical Theatre category at the Nationals in New Brunswick. She is excited to be part of the Moving Art community and to help students reach their vocal potential.
