Moving Art is excited, and proud, to offer Summer Sessions for the 2013 summer season! Continuing with our goal to provide quality expressive and creative experiences, Moving Art will be able to extend this out to the community so that more people will be able to have a Moving Art experience! In our twelfth year, Moving Art continues to pride itself on motivating learning using kinesthetic and active learning, building confidence, enhancing self-esteem and promoting independence. The Summer Sessions will be a fun, exciting and truly ‘moving’ experience for all drama and dance enthusiasts.
I Like to Move It Sessions:
(Dance and Drama Mix)
Participants will enjoy classes in drama and dance. Activities will include Theatre-Sports, Jazz/Hip Hop, Acting, Modern, Drama activities and more. The week culminates with a showcase for family and friends where participants can prove that they ‘Like to Move It’!
Discovering plot, theme, and character motivation, participants will work together to perform a play, and movie scenes. The week culminates with a performance for friends and family.
Musical Theatre Session:
This program will be filled with quality instruction, and fun, in singing, acting and definitely moving. Participants will work together to put on a musical. The week culminates with a performance for family and friends.
Musical Theatre Intensive Session:
This program is recommended for participants who have had musical theatre training. During this extended session, participants will explore their imaginations and creativity, while working together to perform ‘The Aristocats’ KIDS. Family and friends, will be awed by their professional performance at the end of the session!
Back 2 Dance Session:
Dancers, get your body and brain back in gear for the start of the dance season. This week will include ballet, jazz, contemporary, hot yoga, salsa dance and more. Ages and abilities will be grouped accordingly. Guest artists and teachers will share their expertise with the dancers. This week long program is highly recommended for serious dancers.
What to Wear:
-comfortable clothing (dance clothes is required for dance intensive)
-indoor running shoes (appropriate dance shoes for dance intensive)
What to Bring:
-lunch and snacks (nut-free)
Participants will be supervised at all times by Moving Art staff.
Extended hours available.
Need a little extra time to drop-off/pick up your child? Extended care is available with drop-off at 8am and pick-up until 5pm. The fee for this service is $5 per half hour.
